These are some images captured while wandering through the 2008 Norman Medieval Faire. The moving portions of this video are shorter segments of some footage that I shot there using my digital camera. If you want to see and hear them, I posted all the longer versions in the Rengeeks group. The static pics are in my own photo section.
The music from this video is indicative of some of my lighter melodies. Dance of the Woodland Fae was originally written as a lighthearted dance for an anachronistic fanciful medieval faire that occurred for a couple of years in a place called Woodland Park. Hence the name. The refrain is only about 30 seconds, so it allows for stopping and starting in brief increments, lasting as long as the dancers like.
When the faire folded, I reappropriated my melody as a fairy dance for a Midsummer Night's Dream. This same melody can be found (with a slightly different instrumentation) on my "Shakespeare: All the thrills without the frills" CD.
